MONIQUE BURR FOUNDATION RAISES MORE THAN $15,000 AT 4th ANNUAL SOUTHERN HILLS GOLF TOURNAMENT

BROOKSVILLE, Florida (Nov. 12, 2009) - The Monique Burr Foundation <http://moniqueburrfoundation.org/> for Children raised more than $15,000 at its 4th annual Southern Hills Golf Tournament at Southern Hills Plantation Club, a private club and course designed by the legendary Pete Dye.

"This tournament was a great success and we're proud of the money raised for the foundation and its mission to prevent child abuse throughout the state," said Jim Harvey, chairman of the Monique Burr Foundation advisory board in Tampa. "Thanks to our participants, supporters and friends of the foundation, we were able to put on another exciting tournament for a good cause."

Tournament participants enjoyed 18 holes of golf, golf contests, a player gift bag, door prizes, a silent auction, raffles, breakfast and lunch, and an awards ceremony throughout the day. The tournament was held one week before the PGA Qualifier Q-School, allowing golfers the rare opportunity to play the course in championship condition.

Winners from the tournament include:

* First Place - Grady Miars, Jim Knierim, Jim Lemon, Kent Magilligan
* Second Place - Dave Langhout, Anas Iqba, David Campo, Scott Cookson

About the Monique Burr Foundation for Children

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children was created as a nonprofit organization in 1997 to honor the late Monique Burr, a tireless advocate for children and their needs. The foundation's mission is to provide hope in the lives of children by providing training and education to prevent and reduce the rate of abuse among children throughout Florida.

In 2008, the foundation reached more than 20,000 children with its advocacy programs, including the Good Touch Bad TouchR program, and since its inception has donated more than $2 million to child-serving agencies in the region. The foundation also works in close partnership with agencies serving children whose primary focus is preventing abuse of children.
